Kitchen Littles?

Kitchen Littles....I think thats what they're called...When the urchin was smaller I bought them for her to play with. They are tiny little kitchen items made of real metal.... the pans are the size of a pocket watch.

I recently rediscovered them when I was looking for something for a visiting kiddie to play with. The only food packed with them was an orange, two apples, a box of Kellogg's cereal from Barbie, and a can of cat food.

Nothing for her to "cook" Oh wait, there was a roast turkey and a slab of bacon.

Anyway, now I'm inspired to make some "food" for her to play with. I found the sculpey that has been hanging around for years (as long as the kitchen set) and made 3 broccoli clusters, 2 eggs over easy,( to go with the bacon) 2 sunny side up, 2 omelets that look more like tacos...

Things like cupcakes and cakes aren't going to work because you don't "bake" them with frosting on.

I am not sure what else to make. ( I have to keep things some what large so they aren't a nightmare to clean up) mashed potatoes would go with the turkey but look weird on the shelf...I need things that look the same before and after cooking. Like broccoli and pancakes...

I'm leaving now, gonna go make pancakes :)

OK...instead of going into the kitchen I was distracted by Ebay...

I think the reason there was only fruit and cereal in her set was I threw the other stuff away. On Ebay you find Kitchen Little sets of name brand processed food.

Why give a kid a cute stove with a beautiful light up oven and then stock it with junk food that doesn't require cooking?

Lets complain about kids with food issues and then give them junk food to play house with.

Maybe if they had ingredients to play with instead of pretend boxes of packaged foods they would be inspired to cook actual food, or eat actual food. If you give a kid plastic hot dogs, french fries and soda cans of course they are going to want to eat that when they get hungry.

I could go on about this for hours...I'd better just stop now.

Oh, I'm so happy you do like my pictures and that you feel the breath from nature. I know I'm fortunate to live where I live :) I'm working so that everyone might live in their naturally green environment... I think it is going to happen some day.
Peace.

I was just admiring "Making Jam" It is also very good. I have never had the patience for water colors. ( or making jam...)

Thankyou ^^ This painting was actually a lot quicker than most of my pictures...and sploshing the paint and water around for the messiness was heaps of fun! ^^ The jam that I made was really quite easy...I'd only tried jam-making once before, so I was surprised with how un-difficult it was ^^ The only problem is that I let too much water evaporate, so it's super thick xD
